With 2024’s debut Eclipse on March 25, Aries Season sparks alights a life-changing Zodiac New Year.
Warrior Princess Aries excitedly enters the chat today, a tad early due to the Leap Year, paired with the Northern Hemisphere Spring Equinox. As the vernal vibrancy welcomes an almost erotic enchantment after the long Winter and lull of the pondering Pisces pond, we may find ourselves in an awakening. AND due to the prolonged Aries-Libra Nodal Cycle, incubating since Summer 2023 and lasting until January 2025, Spring 2024 is NOT simply business as usual. We will be experiencing a concentrated cosmogony of the Self vs. Relationship arc that is the Aries-Libra Axis at its finest.
We’ll dive deeper into the 1st Sign of the Zodiac for the Aries Mercury Rx Substack (end of March) and Aries New Moon Solar Eclipse Muse (in early April), but today the Aries’ Duality rightfully steals the spotlight as we begin Spring… and for good reason! Libra’s advocacy to connect, use language for not just expression but negotiation, experience amour in safety and sweetness AND curate harmony for all is felt strongly this upcoming week as we spring into Eclipse Season.
Ostara is on feature, a Wheel of the Year marker akin to Easter, symbolically similar in resurrection but a la Nature, fertility and creative renewal.
Though this next chapter is often very welcome to Earthlings, it can be accompanied by an overwhelm of desire and dreams we aren’t quite prepared to make bed with. This time to embrace change but also attempt to ground, shed layers to allow vulnerability, but also trust the process, can be chaotic (not to mention Spring Fever, allergies, and the Astro fuckery ahead!). The lush of Nature bursting forth, then the pause of frosty eves, reluctant and afraid of exposure, Early Spring’s erratic dance is akin to Eclipse Season itself.
The stop-and-go, unknowing of the sprout, the bloom, the blossom, inevitably finds its way to the surface, mirroring the intense energy of Eclipse closing one door and opening another, much to our resistance. And as the Libra Lunar Eclipse has much to do with Love, as unrequited or imbalanced as it may be, we’ll be marking this moment with our poetry party SYMPOSIUM: OSTARA on Thursday March 21st at Argosy, celebrating host Jay Morris’ poetry chapbook release, limerence breaker.

WHAT: Libra Full Moon + Lunar Eclipse
WHEN: Monday March 25 3AM EST
THEME: The Bravery of Balance
As a Venus-ruled fae with delicate sensibilities, Libra weighs in on the winds of change with diplomacy and dedication.
Unlike Aries, Libra is a lover, not a fighter. She craves positive change, not hard-lined high stakes, in favor of growth and good will. Where the Aries-Libra Axis connects, however, is in the realm of respect for both the self and our partnerships. The Lunar Eclipse and Full Moon in Libra on March 25th magnifies where we’ve closed ourselves off from mutual understanding and closes the door to negative knee-jerk reactions and the paranoia of others’ seemingly negative perceptions. Is the environment we’re contributing to one of fairness and objectivity? Is there reciprocity to our kindness and care? Do we need to learn to give ourselves more of what we search for in others?
Remembering that others’ behaviors says more about them than you can be the most powerful gift we give ourselves. On the opposite end, we must be accountable to how our presentation pushes opportunities or others away. At the end of the day, we are always dealing with a mixture of nature vs. nurture and if we want to evolve, we need to learn to consider that many circumstances beneath the surface can exist at once… or perhaps un-learn that feelings aren’t facts and we’re always in a state of constant flux. When we reach a state of knowing this about OURSELVES, we offer this grace to others.
Disappointment and disconnection can still be unwanted in our lives regardless of the empathy we can give. Perhaps people have not shown up for us to support us in the ways we deserve, but once we accept that we are all doing the best we can, compassion transforms our reactions for the better, even when we decide to let go. The goal is to not become closed off to love due to not receiving it from one source we’ve poured ourselves into.
The bravery of forgoing fear - with discretion of course - frees us to express and connect differently in the future. Envisioning a life of love is not enough on its own: it takes practice to become a person of hope AND to see what avenues are an expansion or a dead-end. We long to grow, to love, to dance, even when we’re afraid, but we’re stronger to do it anyway.

Love Lessons of the Libra Full Moon / Lunar Eclipse:
The Libra Eclipse offers us an opportunity to attune our expression to positive presence and abundant possibilities. Whatever we’ve been working with and struggling to face since October 2023 comes full circle, asking us how to elevate what we’ve nurtured during the darkness, bringing solutions to light on all things relationship and love related.
Libra in the South Node can be a little too comfortable with passivity and/or security in possession; thus, learning to support autonomy while maintaining consideration for the other is its call in the current manifestation of Spring Eclipse Season. Subjects like attachment styles and advocacy of needs are fruitful to focus on for a healthy future. It’s important to remember we can only control ourselves, not others or outcomes, and self-regulation is an important skill to nurture right now.
Even though Pisces Season has closed, the Fish holds prominence during the 1st Eclipse of 2024. While Aries Season is eager to propel into dramatic change, burning it all down to start again, Pisces Venus, Mars, Saturn and Neptune ask us to consider the Bigger Picture and perhaps see what will bring the most PEACE, not just productivity. Do we want to exhaust ourselves by meeting goals or being someone we’re not in the New Zodiac Year? Are we making room for compromise and creativity?
Libra’s savvy for selective choices needs to be honored in the “ending phase” of the Eclipse, but with careful gentle gestation, instead of stubborn finality that is usually propelled more by Ego and fear than peace. Libra knows that no garden grows in a day, it must be tended to over time to flourish, and the results may not be exact, but it will be absolutely beautiful whichever outcome is achieved.
Chiron’s presence with this Lunar Eclipse encourages escapist energy, instead of a soft-and-sweet approach that Libra leads best by. Too much, too soon is NOT the melody to hum despite the go-go gaga of Aries Season. Yes, it’s a new chapter, but one to tune out distraction so we can better work on communication and cultivate the Libra harmony before April’s Mercury Retrograde. Choosing care over compulsion is always a better option! We deserve to be gentle with ourselves and others.
