Gemini-Sagittarius is a dynamic duo of dashing divas, buzzing around like caffeinated bees compared to the other Sister Signs.
With a cosmic connection all about cerebral currents, these two juggle philosophy and poetry with a flair for fun, turning analysis into an art form. Especially during Gemini Season’s build to Summer ~that took off like a rocket leaving Taurus's leisurely pace in the dust~ this year’s Planetary shifts has made June a juicy Pride Month to remember. Now that Taurus is at home in Venus from 6/6 to the 4th of July, we’re in for a luxurious lavish of fashion, flirtations and finery for the rest of June. Taurus Venus will further make the lunation of Gemini-Sagittarius extra celebratory… though that’s their flavor anyway! With an insatiable thirst for learning, Gemini flits around as a Social Butterfly, sipping on the sweet nectar of knowledge, while the Sagittarius Full Moon embarks on an even grander adventure, hunting tantalizing treasure without a map but nonetheless illuminating the direction we crave to go.
Though this Full Moon urges us to frolic, the reminder that all play and no work makes for Jack a mere toy is extremely relevant.
Yes, the Future can be fabulous, but the thought-centric preoccupation of Gemini-Sagittarius WILL be faced with its obvious roadblocks especially with Venus in Taurus. This astro-duality easily suffers from self-imposed mental overload, easy to burnout and thus in need of recharging batteries when brainiac gymnastics start to stack against them. Both Signs want to do IT ALL, often struggling with respecting their limitations until they run out of energy altogether… or fluttering to a little lovely distraction while their duties go on the wayside. It is exhausting being brilliant and magnetic! It’s exhausting having to make ends meet! It’s exhausting having so many options! Though much better than having none. Exploring angles to wits’ end while making time for projects and friends, the Gemini-Sagittarius work-life balance can be anything but streamlined.
In the words of Sagittarius stellium Henry Thoreau, “It's not enough to be busy. The question is, what are we busy about?"
The indie film Party Girl is a terrific throwback representing the Gemini-Sagittarius Axis AND highly relates to aspects of this specific Sagittarius Strawberry Full Moon. Starring Parker Posey (whose Moon is in Gemini and Venus in Sagittarius), Party Girl was the first film to EVER broadcast on the internet on June 3rd, 1995. Directed by Daisy Meyer, the spastic club scenester Mary finds herself in a financial bind, bailed out of jail by her strict godmother (played by Meyer’s own mother, Sasha Von Scherler) who basically trolls Mary via intellectual dare to become a librarian. Mary’s “struggle” to “survive” is really a realization that she must consider how she spends her time and energy, made clear thru a racetrack of bad decisions with annoying consequences. However, Mary accidentally is enchanted by the stacks of literature she must manage, enhancing multiple new interests, including philosophy, spurred first by mention from her crush and later reading The Myth of Sisyphus by Albert Camus (midheaven Gemini, Saturnian Sag).
Mary: Do you know the story of Sisyphus?
Leo: Who?
Mary: Sisyphus. It's a myth about this guy who had to roll or push this incredibly huge rock up this steep mountain. Every time he would get to the top of this mountain the rock would roll down again. He would watch this and walk back down the mountain and do it all over again. Forever.
Leo: Drag.
Mary: It's a metaphor for life, Leo. It's famous.
Leo: Is this some kind of drug rehab?
Mary: [looks through book] It's not rehab. One must imagine Sisyphus happy.
Leo: Bullshit. He's miserable.
Mary: He doesn't have to be. He accepts his fate.
Leo: You're telling me if your name is Syphilis, and you spend your life lugging a fucking rock up a hill you wouldn't be miserable?
Mary: I think I'm an existentialist. I do.
Naive Mary falling in love with Lebanese street vendor Mustafa lends exposure to his bright hopes vs. harsh reality re: the Arab diaspora and in many ways her privilege which she’s thus far taken for granted. In many ways, the film comments on the follies of youth free of parental guidance, the early 20’s crux of assuming one knows everything only for the illusion to be shattered. Mary comes out of her trial with eye-opening gratitude, which should be the standpoint for most white femmes amongst a diverse queer and alt friend group. Party Girl is basically the burst of the bubble, the reality check of wanting to lead a lax, no-rules, creative, chaotic life against the tenants of rent and career, the making of ends meet. She who has buried her grief through drugs and dresses finds salvation in a randomly discovered love of order and comes out of her debt-agreement with a newfound purpose. A feature filmed in 19 days, it is now (and then to be honest) regarded as a cult classic for its blend of couture fashion and warehouse parties against the frustration of early 20’s existential crisis.
The antidote for main character syndrome is understanding the world is much bigger than oneself… That our actions have impact on others, that exercising empathy ironically can turn into compassion that keeps us connected and fills our cup in ways we never realized it could. By the end of the film, what Mary once scoffed at suddenly is seen with so much precious potential, a heartwarming glimmer in the precariousness of living. She has a newfound purpose due to newfound interests she never allowed herself to be exposed to. I can’t help but see the 3 months trial of Saturn in Aries relating to the growing pains within Party Girl as we find passion along the way of a labored journey, though may folly with distractions and hastiness. This Summer is truly a trial run to a much longer transit that will affect our attitudes towards responsibility and discipline.
WHAT: Sagittarius Full Strawberry Moon
WHEN: Wednesday June 11th, 2025 3:43 AM EST
THEME: Short Cuts Can Be Trifling, Shortcake
The Sagittarius Full Moon ups the ante on our aspirations AND shines a light on what stands in the way of our dreams. She is standing on a peak at the end of Spring, overlooking a bigger picture she’s been having too much fun to TRULY see, and what’s behind and what’s ahead can be SO MUCH to process. Sorting thru Gemini Season’s numerous options of overwhelm before trotting down the path chosen may jump-kick serious indecision fatigue but it must be done. It’s very possible to either feel incredibly activated with a touch of anxiety or extremely exhausted with this lunation even though there are no nasty aspects affecting this Full Moon for once! This is where “bad habits” known as distractions are going to make themselves known the most. Where the Gem-Sag Axis is very much a party girl with a secret diary, she can also lean too far into a “guilty pleasure” that isn’t helping anyone out.
Going into this Taurus Venus weekend, it is best to give ourselves ample space to restore while looking at the hard truth of what works and what doesn’t as we map our next moves for maximum joy. Are there ways we overspend, over consume, even over-think that is stopping us from making traction on our dreams? Are any fall-backs really holding us back from moving forward by being shiny traps that take all our time and energy away from the real work we need to be doing to get unstuck and move forward? Yes, Taurus Venus brings the pleasure which we need and deserve but gravitating towards spending too much money, time, labor on non-reciprocal or even self-destructive pastimes might need a bit of a wake-up call. Leaning into the simple pleasures of life for Summer could use a little Strawberry Moon sweetness. Reading, cooking, gardens, writing… in what ways can we connect to our environment, learning and expansion for the Season?
Gemini’s specialty as informational innovator will float along long after its Season when Uranus stations in the Twins; however, this Strawberry Lunation is another opportunity to ponder the breakthroughs and boundaries we would like to have around our mental courage, curiosity and capacity. Sagittarius’ lust for learning is strong but its determination can be even stronger. We are incredibly lucky that this Sag Moon is lightened by a sparkly tone of positivity and productivity, and once we decide what old habits to let go and which direction we need to go forth in order to grow, we’ll feel more secure. Granted, we do not know what kind of adversaries or pitfalls we’ll come across along the ways but we’ll at least know our WHY and that in itself is half the battle.
Finding a midway between the stop and go, but moreso an EXPLORE helps us get to the heart of the matter. Honesty, in earnest, is the Gemini-Sagittarius strong suit, but there is also a bravado and ego that enters the picture that can continue to hold us back. Isn’t it funny how difficult it can be to have the bravery to admit very obvious things… the things that pain us in our moments of truth, knowing what we do not need, what we can not carry with us and also conversely, what an abundance of blessings we have? The complication of self-awareness, matched with quiet understanding instead of haste, can be bittersweet, but it’s one that will set us free this Sagittarius Full Moon, if we feel ready to allow it.
Sweetness of the Sagittarius Full Moon:
A couple of days before the Strawberry Full Moon, Sagittarius’ ruler Jupiter will move into the celestial Crab for the next year. Jupiter in Cancer will give this Moon an adjustment arc though not a bad thing whatsoever; this Summer will start to feel more supported and secure soon enough! (It’s important to know what house Cancer is in in your chart; full breakdown in next Muse for Cancer Season June.) Even in the face of dire uncertainty, June is a vivacious vibe shift for all the massive major planetary that will assist in our approach to goals, community, self-care, routine and many other aspects that lead to a deeper and sweeter sense of re-defined “success”. Check out more info here.
First and foremost, the Sagittarius Full Moon whets our adventurous appetite and is GREAT for devouring self-doubt and stagnation. There is no better time to claim your right to your truth, who we are at core (which can in itself contain multitudes) and in what ways we have the right to grow, tapping into our most fruitful future selves. Sagittarius is unapologetic and allows space for many things to exist at once. Opposite Gemini, who is said at times to be “two-faced”, an overall scope of existence means we can be adaptable like these Mutable Signs.
Venus in Taurus squares Pluto Rx in Aquarius during this Full Moon, perhaps bringing a little bit of rowdiness to relationship dynamics especially having to do with money and/or manipulation. Additionally, Mars squares Uranus so there is an element of murkiness in the background to be aware of. Yes, this Full Moon is for having fun AND finding purpose but don’t let any scams pass right over you while you’re engaging in celebratory bliss. No hard aspects but some trickiness happening in the background we would all be wise to be aware of.
Reminder that the Saturn-Neptune Conjunction in Aries is alight! A huge subject expanded upon for the 1st wave of Summer planetaries posted previously. Though this doesn’t connect directly to this lunation, considering this is a Fire Full Moon ~which can be a hotbed of reaction instead of response~ this Aries Conjunction will prey a bit on delulu re: what should stay and what should go. I always go for growth (individually and collectively) first and many of us are most likely leaning into more ethical enthusiasm around our path in pin-pointing our purpose.
