“As a woman, I have no country. As a woman, my country is the whole world.” -Virginia Woolf

As Summer literally and politically heats up, Cancer Season ushers us to cool off in her healing waters… not as a distraction and not even as a nurse that knows the power of pause… but in the wisdom of the process which includes restoration in order to have the reserves to KEEP GOING. We are in dire need to ACT and with Saturn AND Neptune both in Aries plus the undercurrent of Pluto in Aquarius televising the revolution, the masses are tasked to show up to the horrors happening in an incredibly fast-moving timeline. To catch up (just barely) on the newest daily news of horror and hatred requires a ton of emotionally-taxing digestion to continue to stay informed. Our nervous systems are over-blown and spike with fear that seeps into our very being and yet we somehow must go about our day, running on empty, burnt out and forced to work while we organize, sympathize and in some cases hide.

The deep need for attention to the WHOLE persists though often is neglected for logistical reasons. Where we CAN find sanctuary and fill up our cup is fleeting; we find ourselves dry again in no time, desperately seeking more spaces of solace in order to seek solutions, to continue the good fight. No matter one’s point of privilege, we are ALL affected by the chaos around us, if not now… soon… or for some maybe once it is too late. Cancer has ALWAYS had stake in protection of the home (including that of our physical bodies) and the family (including that of our chosen and community connection); with Jupiter in Cancer expanding her powers of protection, this year-long planetary shift will step-up to create more care than we’ve seen in some time. And, yes, the timing couldn’t come sooner in this shit-show.

Trump has been facilitating multiple mass violations of human rights across the board that CANNOT be ignored but at the core is the terrifying threat of losing SAFETY. Controlling bodily autonomy has always been his target with reproductive rights at the center of his political agenda for well over a decade. State laws around abortion and even birth control have reverted significantly with access being extremely restrictive in my own state (including a horrific case where a brain-dead woman is being kept alive against the wishes of her family due to her pregnancy). Trump used his campaign platform to prey on queer-phobic populations with his goons working non-stop to defund gender-affirming healthcare for all ages via Medicaid and Medicare including employees of the State of Georgia. And the right to exist as an immigrant in this country fits into bodily autonomy, too: ICE has refused medical care and medication to many of the people they have kidnapped and have ripped children out of the hands of their own parents.

Pushing back against the Patriarchy isn’t just an option, it’s mandatory for the survival of bodily autonomy in this rapidly declining country.

Despite the “crybaby” cliches ALL the Water Signs are given, Cancer as the Mother archetype is NOT to be fucked with.

A fierce protector of the home, body, children, people and places that need and deserve safety, Cancer’s care on these matters is highly relevant. We are all unfortunately pondering SAFETY and making moves in whatever ways we can in this time of grievous violation of all the above mentioned tragedies. I see the myth of female patriotism showing up loudly for Jupiter in Cancer which in the negative could possibly lean into nationalism as a point of protection, but the more we deconstruct “borders” and ownership of the Earth, hoarding its resources and polluting its water, the idea of wars and the unnecessary deaths that follow it makes the idea of countries itself more ridiculous.

In a plot twist one of Trump’s most disturbing supporters Majorie Taylor Greene spoke out against Israel’s actions in Gaza and neighboring lands, citing “no more endless wars” though has still rallied around the idea of persecuting the Latino immigrant populations in the States with intensity. The connections between the war machine are seen fully in the protests in Los Angeles and the support for Gaza. It becomes more obvious every day that no human is illegal with the actions of both ICE and IDF; the amount of money put into the sick project of dejecting humans from the life they have in whatever “country” is not only worthy of preserving, but to actually see the cost on paper to push people out of where they have made a home is indeed more costly than to just support those that exist where they are and have been for the past few years.

It’s safe to say all of the United States is overstimulated by the news no matter what “side” of politics you’re on; there are attacks by the military police state and especially the kidnappings of ICE shaking our country to the core but the people are fighting back, bounding together against unjust lack of process, literally chasing the cops away, protesting at every turn and more aware than ever that what is happening in our country right as we speak is unconstitutional and inhumane. At a glance, blood and/or chosen family will find sanctuary in caring community, neighbors will stand up to forced division of families, and in all this pain and suffering, the actions of THE PEOPLE standing up to the powers that may be has been awe-inspiring.

The Summer Solstice and the Cardinal Season of Cancer starts off the upcoming weekend and it couldn’t come soon enough.

Looking to move thru to the new season especially after the hectic activity of the last week: the only Friday 13th of 2025 took place a couple of days after the Strawberry Moon in Sagittarius, on Saturn-day mass protests of Trump overshadowed his expensive military parade birthday, and on Sun-day we had to all unpack it on the complicated U.S. observation of Father’s Day. With the technical Summer in less than a week, intense astrological energies gives my personal Solstice review a ramped-up wanting of change. We’re indeed HAVING A MONUMENTAL JUNE and this next few days are especially ripe to knock out a few stray spots of neglect that we have not had the chance to fully focus on. Jupiter in Cancer is very present now and I’ll break down how the Expansion Planet affects this week at the end of the post.

6/9/25 - 6/30/26 Jupiter in Cancer

After some time in brainy butterfly Gemini, Jupiter’s new residency will invite the gracious giving a return of the Matriarchy where everyone is invited to the tables sans the sneaky rebrand of the “feminine divine” putting women back in the kitchen where “they belong” that I’ve seen infiltrate TERFy spirituality social media. Jupiter has a very steadfast near year-exact cycle in each sign. Before Gemini, Jupiter experienced a lush garden providing food and frolic with friendship and candor in the Bull. Jupiter has a tendency to bring out the best of a Sign as its golden touch is felt in sparkles surrounding our political and personal support systems though in Planetary Magick the Planet’s “expansiveness” is too often exploited as a business gain game.

As the people pushed back over the years, Jupiter in Taurus tilled Earth Bull themes thru our collective sphere, notably conversations around resources and encouraging resilience in protest culture. Inflation of food prices and finding our stance in our values, specifically related to Palestine, were clear results of the year-long Jupiter cycle in Taurus. Jupiter in Gemini enhanced the spread of information thru any channels possible and companies like Meta ended up trying to control such communication thru more restrictions. Though Gemini was in its “fall” while positioned in the King Planet’s Court, since Gemini is ruled by the smallest planet, Mercury, and Jupiter is the largest in our Solar System, this pairing was finicky but impacted critical strategy in a politically disruptive fashion.

In the personal, perhaps through a welcomed psychedelic philosophical kaleidoscope, Jupiter in Gemini broadened our interpersonal and macro-cosmic connectivity and set the tone for the softer communal lense of Cancer. With Jupiter’s first week in Cancer, there’s been an interjection of femme fury in the push-back of the patriarchy. I’m personally holding hope for a delightful revival of appreciation and admiration ~along with alliances and advocacy~ around subjects that are deemed “feminine” concerns and yet are the fabric of reality that keep us cared for, healthy and in thriving networks where we all have an opportunity for fuller livelihood.

In a heartfelt homecoming, Jupiter in watery Cancer steps away from the cliches of scarcity mindset, fake news and money, money, money, diving into the pearly-iridescent glow of comfortable intimacy that makes our lives truly “rich”. The pounding headache that is the Patriarchy, enforcing its presence to remain relevant in this rapidly revolutionizing world, is growing louder, though I see its big-mouthed bullshittery and its control over who lives where, what we can do with our bodies and so on as an indication of the threat it is experiencing in the climate crisis that MAGA refuses to recognize. (Keep in mind though that Trump plans to phase out FEMA, an admittance of the havoc climate change is creating in the Americas).

In order for our personal lives to be boosted by Jupiter in Cancer, we must learn to become less apologetic for our want to protect and less willing to people-please to people who oppress us. It’s a challenge to root out the need for validation under the gaze of subservience, to sever a system that sees gender as a specific lane of presentation and behavior to stay within. No more asking for permission to invoke rightful anger; the exalted Jupiter Cancer is here to co-exist with life energy at its center. Jupiter in Cancer will not be apologetic for the array of emotion within us; it will not squash sadness or anger or deny itself a single emotion. All of our emotions are children that need to be seen and heard. And while feelings are not always facts, they are perspectives that reflect upbringings: how our reactions and wounds show up CAN BE opportunities to heal parts of our lore we’re socially told to swallow and never speak of.

What happens if we listen to our feelings instead of denying them altogether?

“Patriarchy believes emotion is weak and has no place in business or governance. It means leaving pieces of you behind when you sit at the table. It means that if you want to be part of the winning side, you have to comply and be ready to be part of the team without holding them back. Matriarchal and egalitarian systems promote love-based decision-making and space for people to share their emotions.” ~Elaine Alec

I predict that Jupiter in Cancer will be supportive of our growth in its femme-leaning wholeness, a less expectant and socially pressured structure that views bodies as having specific uses to men. Summer spins in sensuality but with creative independence thanks to Saturn in Aries and Neptune, we can create daily systems infused with pleasure and play that lift up our path instead of having our work become a march to the grave. Today’s entrance of Mars in Virgo is another variation of verve to tap into the brief trial run of Aries Saturn and celebrate the new Jupiter in Cancer. While lingering Mars Retrograde issues will bounce back for the Cancer area of your chart even though Mars has little impact with the Summer celestials, Jupiter in Cancer will be a salve to the hell we experienced earlier this year. And while Gemini Season may soon be over but the fluttery frolic will feel itself out in a new realm of Uranus (info loading in July). It’s truly a Summer of changes!

And even the past few days has been a rapid wildcard of shifts. We’ve wrapped up a week with the World changed, uncertainty keeping us in a choke hold, BUT this may have been followed by divine downloads around our purpose. While some subjects around the privilege of remaining silent or to speak out have been perhaps pointed and uncomfortable, the softer heart-felt edges of Cancer Season joined by Jupiter in Cancer will create a loving lather that can feel like an armor. We are looking into appreciating EACH OTHER with an open view thanks to the Gemini-Sagittarius Axis… and we may emerge from Gemini Season feeling incredibly in-tune with our objectives as little Earthlings with wishes, wants, needs and dreams.

Remainder June Astrology:

  • 6/17 Mars enters Virgo, giving us diplomatic but could veer into dramatic. Detail-oriented drive CAN be divine and routine helps us get in a flow. If you’re using June as a "new year” re-do and/or using the 3 months of Saturn in Aries to shape up your discipline before it back-spins into absent-minded professor Pisces again, Mars in Virgo is a boot-camp! The only downside is the Virgin’s critical eye (of oneself or others) that can frustrate and add mind-fuckery when we COULD be just GETTING SHIT DONE. Give yourself grace if not all’s going as planned, don’t fall into the perfectionism pit or overwork yourself into a shell of a human. Perfectionism is a lie. Priorities need your attention and procrastination over how everything “needs” to look and feel is not the vibe we’re going for with Jupiter in Cancer, yall!
